Feets

This afternoon, Zia had a follow-up appointment with Dr Phillips, a local podiatrist.  Her feet turn in pretty good and is quite noticeable.  Six months ago when we spotted it, we made an appointment with our pediatrician and he recommended the specialist.

The best part about him is he has the “wait and see what happens approach.”  Much like mine.  He thinks she isn’t over compensating because when that does happen the feet tend to turn out but her feet are pretty “laid back” and it’s not causing her any problems.  She doesn’t fall over and she’s still growing.

Usually, the best course of action for this problem is an insert into her shoes but because she hasn’t grown too much in the last six months he thinks we should recheck it in another six months.

She’s also taken to walking on her toes when the Doctors are trying to watch her walk.  Little turd!  We need to watch that and if it continues we need to monitor it and make sure it doesn’t become a habit, that could cause a whole new bunch of problems.

When I mentioned this morning that we had to go see the Doctor, she got a little bit nervous.  I kept reassuring her it was not going to hurt and we were just going to look at her feet.  It was going to tickle and there was nothing to be worried about.  She was still worried but only acted a little bit shy but was very relieved when she didn’t get hurt.  Good appointment and we’ll go back in November!
