Dental visit

In order for Zia to attend Head Start this coming year, she had to visit the Dentist. It was her first time there and she was super patient while Sonyea went first.

The last time Sonyea was there, was right before she entered Head Start as well. She had her first cleaning and fluoride treatment and did super! She has no cavities and has 3 loose teeth. That one on top is still holding on! She was told by the Hygienist to wiggle it a lot and that will help it fall out. I think she’s a little nervous about it. (Which I’m fine with it not falling out yet, we are not prepared for the Tooth Fairy to visit here yet.)

I tried to get pictures of Zia in the chair but she wouldn’t have it. She’s been a real pain in the butt about not getting her picture taken. I really hate it and have to catch her on the fly. Sonyea, on the other hand, has no trouble posing for the camera!

Not the greatest picture, but her teeth are all clean!!

Zia was pretty wiggly in the chair so they didn’t get an x-ray but did well while she had her cleaning done. Her mouth looks great, super white teeth and we really do need to work on getting rid of the pacifier.

When it came to moving to the other room so the Dentist could look at her, she was not having it. I offered to sit in the chair with her and she was cool with that, but she was not cool with the Dentist looking in her mouth. At one point, Zia bit her and she screamed through the fluoride treatment like she was getting a tooth pulled instead of just being painted on. At least her first visit is done.

The next one will be next year and both girls will go at the same time so there will be less anxiety and we can get it done faster!
