Olcott Beach

When in Buffalo, what are you gonna do? We have a list of “go-to” outings that we do over and over. The Zoo for instance. We decided to venture a little but further away this time. We piled into the Knapp family roadster and headed North.

Looky, looky… we all fit in the same vehicle!!!

Sonyea had the chance to visit Olcott Beach last year on her solo visit with Grammie and PopPop. Zia was really looking forward to hitting the park.

As usual, we play everything by the seat of our pants and we decided to check out the water first.

After telling the girls a dozen times to not get their clothes wet, Jimmy ran up to the van to get their swim suits. (Thanks Jimmy!!!) Ok girls… GO GET WET!!!

Family photos are much easier now that we know the timer works!!

After collecting a bunch of rocks and changing clothes again (it’s what the girls do best) we headed up to the rides. What kid doesn’t like carnival rides? We love them and up in Olcott, the rides are 25 cents a ride!!!!

They both said they wanted to ride the ferris wheel, so we hit that first!

Sometimes, the girls can really get along and be super sweet with each other. Today, was one of those super sweet days. Sonyea was an excellent big sister and helped Zia out on every ride. Helped her buckle up and unbuckle.

One of the most perfect pictures, right here!

They were filming a commercial and every ride we hit, the camera just went the other way. They were asking for volunteers to play skeeball for the commercial and since the girls are too small (you have to be 8) Jimmy and PopPop decided they were going to play a quick game.

Taking a break while the boys played their game.

I’ve heard this said from most of my friends who live in the area. It’s a shame to have to pay for a carrousel ride. No merry-go-round should ever have to paid for since we live in the Carrousel Capital! We can ride any one for free, as many times as we’d like! There are SIX carrousels in the area and we love every one!! But, we had to ride.

Anyone know what kind of flower these are??? Grammie and PopPop thought they were pretty cool. I thought they looked like Muppets!!

After riding all the rides, we got ice cream and then hit the little shops along the way.

I’ve been trying to get as many family pictures as we can! We have missed out on so many of them over the years, so it’s about time we started documenting the family and not just Jimmy and the girls!! No matter what I look like. I have to be more photos.

I don’t remember being on the pier before so we made the short trek over. As long as you don’t mind bird poop, it’s a great place to visit!! Brace yourself, there’s some AMAZING photos here. Yup, I’m patting myself on the back. They are all unedited!

Sonyea was pretty impressed with the distance between home and “you are here.”

This picture was taken seconds before her Polish came out in full force. She decided to use the rope as a swing and ended up on her back. Thankfully she was ok because it was surely funny!!
