Remember the first day of school then a week off for flooding and more flooding and more flooding and one last flood post? Then the second first day of school? This post is the Pre-K Graduation post. Holy smokes, it’s been the fastest year yet. Full of excitement of a new year, depression, stress, being busy, a miscarriage, more stress, some fun, friends, family and more fun with hopefully some excitement on the horizon.
We wanted to look our best for the last hoorah of C.R.Weeks. What better way than to wear our wedding dress. She was the best dressed girl in the class. She showed it off nicely. She knew she looked her best and really was on her best behavior too.
The gym filled up pretty fast with friends and family ready to share this first big scholastic milestone and Sonyea was very excited that Grandma Patty, Grandma Lois and Grandpa John could share in the excitement with us. We know that Grammie and PopPop would have been there if they could have but stinkin’ work got in the way. We took a ton of photos and videos to share so they won’t miss out on the fun. (Videos will be uploaded at another time.)
We were the first to arrive so we had a photo shoot. The girls are doing better with their pictures when they want to.
The ceremony started a few minutes late, had to make sure that everyone was there. The class walked in, boys first, girls following all wearing their graduation caps. They smiled big, waving at family who were busy snapping pictures.
After the Pledge of Allegiance, speeches from Principal Milano and Mrs. Bennett the class entertainment got underway.
*I love Cameron and am excited about possibly seeing him next year.
Talk about entertainment, there’s always one of those in the class right? Here’s my child!
I have no idea what she was doing with her mouth. Rolling down her bottom lip, wiping it off, brushing off her teeth… She couldn’t remember what was going on either.
The best Pre-K teacher any parent could want for their little ones. Mrs. Bennett has been wonderful with the class. We already have plans to make sure Zia is in her class in a few years. Of course, Zia already knows everything Mrs. Bennett taught because Sonyea taught Zia everything she learned at school.
Sonyea’s friend Rachel.
Afterwards, refreshments were served. Cookies and juice. These girls were flying high, bouncing off the walls at Applebee’s.
