If you live on Planet Earth, you know last night was the Supermoon!
The distance between the Earth and it’s moon was just 225,000 miles (give or take a few) so the moon looked HUGE. You know as it rises over the horizon it looks even bigger because of the atmosphere but holy smokes it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
When I got out of work shortly after 8pm, it was just peeking over the hills in the east. I was so lucky to be traveling east so I got to see it get higher and higher. I thought about waking the girls to go see it but we would have had to get into the car and travel a little ways because the mountain behind us was hiding the giant.
I played around with the settings on my camera and actually got a few decent photos. Not nearly as good as say, this, but they are still pretty good, IMO.
