Mystery Reader

March is reading month. We read every night before bed. I love that my girls love to read books. Sonyea is finally to the point where she can look at the picture on the page and know what to say about it. She is slowly recognizing words and making me proud.

I volunteered at school on Monday. I didn’t tell her. It was a surprise! I also kept it from Zia until after Sonyea left for school because those girls can’t keep a secret. We stood out in the hall until after they were done cleaning up and then we were introduced. I thought it was hilarious, the door opened and I pushed Zia inside. HA, she was the mystery reader.

Sonyea was so excited!! She didn’t see it coming. I read the book “When will it be Spring.” It was the perfect selection because Monday they celebrated the last day of winter.

These photos were staged. I was so excited to get in and read that I didn’t even hand over the camera. After we were done, her teacher noticed it and we pretended to read. Hence the backpacks on the kids. (see, I can’t even keep a secret)

I wasn’t going to post all the photos but I’m going to. You can totally see the photobomb from Miss Lily.

There’s still time to make an appointment to read to Sonyea’s class. Just get in touch with me and I’ll get you hooked up. It seriously took 5 minutes to read the book and we were done. Sonyea would LOVE it if you could help out.
