We are always looking for fun things to do with Grammie and PopPop when they visit. They hate sitting around so off we went to TTR at Skate Estate the day after Sonyea’s birthday.
We knew a bunch of people there because of school being off for the day. It’s always great to run into friends, especially when we haven’t seen them in ages!
Of course, these friends are mine. Mommy friends I call them. They have kids, I have kids, we share many of the same interests but unfortunately, many of the kids don’t know each other. Sonyea remembers a few, some we see more often than not and some we haven’t seen in years and that makes me sad. As long as my kids always have friends they’ll be happy and I’ll be happy. (and they better be good kids with good influences or I’ll kick them in the shin)
One of the awesome Mommy friends is a friend of mine through Sonyea’s whattoexpect.com board. She makes hair bows, Over the Rain-bow and was very sweet in custom making these for us. (Sara, I’ll get you better photos as soon as I can)
Sonyea insisted on wearing BOTH at the same time. However they didn’t last long because she had to wear her helmet for bike riding. They spent 98% of the time in my pocket. Then she wore one to school and had computer lab where she had to wear headphones so it came out and got lost there. Her teacher was sweet and went hunting for it. Thankfully it’s back in our possession and will be worn more thoughtfully in the future. (Look at how red her hair looks in that sunlight!) Thanks Sara for the awesome bows!
Sorry for the crappy photos, I can’t figure out the right setting to take photos in that place. Then I catch myself playing with the camera and losing sight of my children and all the fun. One day, I’ll figure it all out!
The girls love their popcorn! With each entrance, they get a drink and a popcorn! Score!
My girls really love their Grammie. Love that she is always coming to visit and doing fun things with them.
Sonyea was VERY brave and tried on roller skates. They were the big girl ones. We’ll have to practice. She did fall on her bottom a few times even while holding onto the brace but practice makes perfect, right!
Zia even got to try out Shayna’s Princess skates! Thanks Abbi for letting us try them. Zia was a natural!
