Hello Mr Turkey!!!

(November 23, 2011) Happy Thanksgiving!!

We woke up ready and willing to rock out with Johnny Only for the annual Make your own Turkey hat show. We also purchased his newest CD!

Sonyea made 90% of her hat while I made 90% of Zia’s hat (Sonyea made the rest). Since there was no school we left early to make sure we got there early.

Sonyea had been begging to hit a show for months!! Her school schedule just doesn’t allow for her to enjoy the time. For whatever reason, my girls don’t really get into it. I love it. However, once he does the Tootie Ta, we are ready and rockin’!

I love the shows when he has the Only Girls with him. His daughters are awesome entertainers, gee, I wonder where that comes from!! He’s great with the kids and the girls are just as much fun. I love watching them!!

What a great way for a family to spend time together. Johnny has got to be so proud of his girls. And the best part, these teenagers LOVE to be there. There’s no way these girls are being forced to go. They have too much fun!!! I hope to have that kind of relationship with my girls when they are teens!

I spent much of Thanksgiving cooking something. I did the right thing and started the night before. I was over tired but I didn’t spend the entire day in the kitchen. The girls were well behaved and as I suspected, they barely touched the food I made. They did scarf down the turkey but didn’t touch anything else.

Of course, they did eat the chocolate/peanut butter pie that Jimmy made! (that’s because it wasn’t green!)

Here’s a little bit of what Sonyea is learning in school. She had a hard time with spacing but that’s to be expected right now!! I was helping her spell words on her place mat.

Every year in Buffalo, there’s a charity run. Sorry I don’t remember the distance. My brother runs it. Why? There’s beer at the finish line!! Here’s a picture from the Buffalo News, I believe it was taken by Harry Skull, Jr. My brother is the one in the red shirt, second from the right in the yellow glasses. Go Keith!!

Way to Turkey Trot!!
