Apple Orchard

I’d like to call today’s post “Apple Picking” but we were too late. The only apples on the leafless trees were attacked by worms, birds or whatever other creatures eat fruit on the trees.

The good part of the adventure was getting out of the house, in the cool, crisp air and we were moving. We stopped at Fiato’s on the south side. It’s a nice little place. The trees are uphill from the store so we got some good exercise in.

We brought our Halloween buckets to store our apples but there just wasn’t anything to pick so we used the buckets to hold a few red leaves and the My Little Pony that should have stayed in the car but tagged along anyways.

We found these little gems just waiting for us.

While trying to take some fall endowed photos, we heard the call of the red tail hawk. I didn’t have the right settings on the camera to capture the bird but I didn’t have time to adjust it. This guy had caught a wave and was just circling around looking for some lunch.

The girls found the most exciting part of our walk on an old apple.

Sonyea, the little meany she has become started yelling at them and even tried to kick them. I don’t know where she would get the idea that it was a good idea to do that. I’m sure that’s why they decided to “quickly” crawl away.

I just don’t understand why my girls can’t BOTH pose at the same time. With the amount of pictures I take (and I’m going to bitch about this until I find a solution) you’d think they would cooperate. How hard is it to “look at the camera!”?

When you ask for a smile, this is what I get…

I found a nice spot on a rock in the sun and tried to get a few more good shots to find that one to frame and show off. I even scanned the background and so totally didn’t notice the black tarp behind. Idiot!

We stopped in the store and grabbed a few Cortland apples, picked out a pumpkin to carve and a pumpkin to cook/bake with and headed home the back way.

Along the way home there is a farm with some horses. We stopped to watch for a minute and the white horse needed a dust bath and a back scratch.

Jimmy said he’s never seen a horse sit down, let alone roll around. I can’t say that I have but I have seen zebras do it. I love zebras!

There’s a small park tucked back off the road and we stopped to get the girls to run around for a little bit before we headed home to get Jimmy on the couch for football. Big game today, Bills at the Giants. (I hate football)

To infinite and beyond!!

She was just a giggling, laughing and talking at the same time. After some deliberation, we still have no idea what she was laughing and talking about. It doesn’t matter because the laugh was just the cutest!!

Sonyea and Daddy went off on their own adventure because Zia wanted to ride some more.

There was a small creek behind the playground and just went back to check it out. Zia took the chance to bounce on the animals and be super cute.

I know, I know… she needs a hair cut but I don’t want to pay for it and I don’t want to screw it up myself.
