Last nice day

Today is October 11th, 2011. The weather is still very, very nice outside. Sonyea was back at school this morning so Zia and I hung out until she got home. We got dressed, got her off the bus and made some lunch. We packed up said lunch and headed outside. Not really sure where to go because so many of our favorite parks are closed since the flood (still!) we got in the car and headed out. At the very last second, we made a plan and headed back to the Discovery Center/Story Garden.

The plan was to sit at the picnic tables set up and then play outside. The girls had other intentions. We hung out in the “purple” house, ate out lunch with this view of the garden.

It was so very peaceful, no arguing, no yelling. Just a fun lunch outside. Zia ended up having to use the restroom so after we finished eating we headed inside. We had the whole Discovery Center to ourselves for a very long time.

More witch puppet shows.

This fence was made out of legs so we added to it.

We were there for well over an hour before I decided we were missing out on the last nice day for a long time we headed back outside. We had the whole garden to ourselves for almost the entire time we were there. I took that opportunity to take tons of pictures and practice some techniques I’ve read about.

I can honestly say some of these next pictures are just awesome! Feel free to give me tips and tell me I’m full of shit when I think a photo is great and it’s really not.

There are downfalls to being tall your whole life, there are also downfalls to not being as tall as you need to be to peddle a boat.

Sometimes, I can get the girls to pose. This is my new favorite picture!!

Zia asked to have her pictures taken. Even Sonyea was pretending to take her picture to help out. I will never turn down the chance to take someone’s picture when they ask!

These two just love rocks. They are always picking up rocks and throwing them where ever they can. (PS…I have a coffee mug full of rocks that Jessica picked up and gave me when she was little, yea. I have no idea where they came from or why she chose them for me but I kept them all. I still have them!!!)

So I’m sitting on the bench waiting for the girls to finish playing in the Three Little Bear’s house. All of a sudden I have a feeling that someone is watching me. I just couldn’t shake it. After about 20 minutes, I spotted this dude…

*yea, creepy!!

No idea what these plants/flowers are but I thought it was really neat with the colored tree behind it. I have to admit, this picture is amazing!
