Fourth of July

Jimmy and I made it another year. Happy 3rd wedding anniversary!

The whole point of getting married on the 4th was so we would have fireworks on our anniversary every year. Literally!

We LOVE Highland Park’s fireworks. I’m sure there’s better ones somewhere, but I don’t know of any, so we’ll stick to taking the back roads up and home.

We packed up snacks and found a little patch of grass to play on. Photobucket

Earlier in the day, we hit the dollar store for glow in the dark fun! We got necklaces, bracelets, magic wands, masks and silly string!

I’ve always loved fireworks. I remember laying on my back in the grass at Riverside Park after a parade one year and thinking how crazy loud they were, how close they actually were and how pretty. I wonder what’s going on in their minds?

To get from Buffalo to Binghamton, there’s a stretch of I-86 that dips down into Pennsylvania. There, fireworks are not illegal. Grammie and Poppop picked up some “harmless” firework fun. Snakes, sparklers and snappers.

Luckily, nobody got hurt unlike a few friends of ours who ended up with burned feet. We had a few close calls but had fun.
