You’ve come a long way baby!

Sonyea has one more day of Head Start. It’s been a lot of fun for her and she begs to go. Whines when it’s a home day and I’m scared of the time off for summer. What the heck am I going to do with both these girls??

This morning, they decided they wanted to color their pictures for gymnastics. Of course, I’m not going to tell them no. Even though the crayons are all broken and stuck under the couch because some little two year old emptied the tin all over.

Anyways, Sonyea has always been one to scribble. Just make a few lines and be done with it. She’s never had the patience or the want to sit and color. Parents aren’t supposed to compare their children with their peers but you know what, I did. I felt bad for my girl because so many of the other kids her age were drawing scenes freehand and coloring inside the lines.

That’s why this picture makes me so proud. She spent a lot of time on it. Making sure it was just right and yelling at her sister to leave her alone so she could finish it.

Just like at school, I told her she had to put her name on it so everyone would know it was hers. She put it on the back, but it’s still huge for her.

For some reason, she’s taken to forgetting the “Y.” She said she’ll remember it tomorrow. (and she also told me this morning she needs a new mom so she can get a cat.)
