Now that the days are decent, minus the gloom and rain and overall dreary feeling, we have both our doors open. While Zia was eating lunch today, I heard a “strange” bird.
Being a former zookeeper who took care of the avian species, I was interested in seeing what that bird was. Grabbed my camera and ran.
After finding it finally in the weeds, it was a male cardinal. Now the trick was to capture the bird on film before it flew off without it being covered in the weeds.
A few cuss words later and almost 5 minutes, it flew over the complex and I thought it was gone. Only to hear it out front somewhere.
Jumped up and grabbed the camera again and out the front door I went. Poor Zia, the whole time is trying to get her shoes on so she can go outside. That never happened. But I did finally got the bird to sit still long enough to zoom in and an unobstructed photo was taken.
